Visiting Bantayan Island Beach Resorts
Jessie and I made a visit to Bantayan Island this month but visited only one of the Bantayan Island Beach Resorts. We returned to Tristan’s Bantayan Island Beach Resort. As expected we had a grand time.
I put together this video of our visit to Bantayan Island:
Tides were higher on Bantayan Island than I’ve seen in my other visits. At times, there was no beach at all. Instead replaced with the sea crashing into the sea walls along the coast line.
We saw several creatures during our two swims in the healing waters of Bantayan Island. There was a beautiful reddish orange star fish. It looked dangerous but I don’t think it is. Well not dangerous to humans but it does eat coral. We also ran across a sea urchin near the shore. It is good we saw it before we stepped on it. That is one experience of living in the Philippines that I hope I am able to avoid.
There was a beautiful golden sunset while we were there. I’ve seen Bogo City covered in golden sunlight before but I’ve never seen anything like this before. You can see this in the pictures at the bottom of this post along with the sea creatures we encountered.
Snorkeling via Bantayan Island Beach Resorts
I have yet to go snorkeling off the coast of Bantayan Island but I’m determined to do so on my next visit. I’m anxious to do this but I have some other trips planned so I don’t think I will be able to do that soon. Many Bantayan Island beach resorts offer tours to the nearby Virgin Island where snorkeling is more common. These tours usually start with a price of P1000 and most often I’ve been quoted a price of P1500.
My overnight stay in Bantayan Island cost me only P2200 so adding another P1500 is a significant expense. Still, I have not experienced all of what Bantayan Island has to offer, so on my next trip, I’ll likely stay at Tristan’s Beach Resort again and charter her pump boat with guide over to Virgin Island.
After that, it will be time for me to explore some of the other resorts on Bantayan Island but Tristan’s will likely remain my home away from home on Bantayan Island.
