Tickety Boo Resort and the Beach
This beach was on the northern side of the wharf. It is still part of Santa Fe Beach. The water was quite warm. Warmer than what we had experienced on the south side a month earlier. I don’t know if it was just different currents or if it is always this way. There was none of that initial shock of getting into the water that one so often experiences.

I’m not sure how anyone could find a more awesome scene. Perhaps with a few dozen bikini clad Filipina. Actually, I don’t think you can improve it. Part of the beauty is that there are so few people. Just sand, palm trees and fishermen. And a little seaweed too. There was more seaweed at this end of the beach and less coral. We’ve been gathering coral for the fish tank we plan to get.
The beauty of the beach couldn’t be better. There was just a bit of an issue on actually getting to the beach. There is a necessary retaining wall. To keep the bay at bay. The resort built some steps into the wall. They need to be redesigned. They are awkward to climb and perhaps a little risky. For the young and nimble, its not much of an issue. From the older and “larger” among we humans, its not an easy crossing. Again though, this something that doesn’t surprise me in the Philippines. It is hard to avoid the temptation of how things would be done in the US and apply it to the Philippines. That’s just not a good thing to do here. The steps here are within expectations one should have in the Philippines.
I love getting into the ocean waters. The salt has wonderful healing properties. Though it has been a month since my last visit, I have been enjoying fewer rashes and skin irritations since my return up until just this week. Having lupus, dermatitis and maybe some other skin conditions my skin is a mess. I break out into an itch and my skin just kind of falls off. Sometimes I help it along but other people don’t end up with holes in their skin from scratching and I don’t scratch holes in other people. I have no idea really what’s going on with this. If I could get in the ocean once a week, my skin would be much less of a problem. I’m having more trouble here as I am having trouble finding detergent mild enough for my super sensitive skin. The ocean though, wipes all that away.
To read about the pool area of Tickety Boo, continue on to part two where we will highlight the wall paintings by local artist. We will also cover the live band the resort provides and other amenities.

I had a very nice stay at Tickety Boo at the beginning of 2008. It was very quite on the island at that time except for the fire works! The owner and his wife were very nice. It was just a shame it was so wet thoughout my trip through the PPs. I left TBs with my room key but gave it to the taxi driver who took me there at the start… I hope that you got it back

What is your most recommended Bantayan resort? I’m celebrating my 27th birthday in 2H10, and (blindly) decided to book a flight to Cebu. Mactan is too commercialized so I was thinking of going to Bantayan instead. What’s the best resort with a beach front room for a price that’s not too steep? Thanks!
Cheers,
T
Tristan’s is always what I recommend.
The place is calm and peaceful… the very nice resort in unwinding together with your family and your love ones…
my first time to go on stage and sing… shocking!!!!!! NERVES!!!!!!!!!!
i love auntie thesss and uncle bill… we missed you….
the place is a sanctuary. as was nearby resort, hope they both still are!
is there any other jump off point going to Bantayan besides Cebu, travel to Bantayan takes 4hours right… that’s a lot of time wasted just for travelling.. any suggestions? anyone?
My family went to tickety boo during the holy week of 2011. We thought that it would give us peace and refuge since it was far from sugar beach where the party was being held, and I was really dissappointed with the crews’ attitude. They were nice and helpful to the foreigners, but they refused to serve us meals in the dining area. I was furious with the reception that we received, specially when rudeness was displayed in front of our children. Aside from that, we could hardly take a walk nor enjoy the beach front since there were dog poop and garbage everywhere.
Hi Ali, going to Bantayan during Holy Week I wouldn’t expect peace and refuge at all. Why were you turned away? Was the place already full?
There are no uncrowded placed in Bantayan during Holy Week, I’ll probably never go there then.
Well maybe, I hear they have a really nice procession that stays within the spirit of what Holy Week in the Philippines should be.
The place is owned by a foreigner but it his Filipino wife seemed to run the place when I was there. Granted three years ago.
Why were you refused? In what way where you treated rudely? There were no Filipino allowed in the restaurant. Examples and details would surely help to give your complaint meaning. I’d like to know more.
Dear Sir,
As one of the owners of Tickety Boo, I am disappointed and angry at the treatment you received during your stay. Please, if you have them, email me photos or names of those who caused you not to have enjoyed your stay.
Please accept my most sincere apologies.
Bill
Can you please quote me for Oct.13-16, 3 adults and two kids.
Please help me also on how to get there from Mactan Cebu.
What are the things we can do there.
Hope to receive immediate response.
Thank you.
Che, I’m not a tour operator. I don’t offer any kinds of services like that. You need to contact the resorts directly.
